Very similar to the Kaokaland area, I did both about 3 years ago... one of my best trips ever... would love to do it again one day..

Will you be traveling alone of a few vehicles?

Damaraland

Will be travelling alone, My wife and I traveled alone last year to Kaokaland, best trip we have ever done, had 5 punctures including 3 blowouts. Picked up a motorcyclist who had broken his leg going off road in the Marienfluss, an absolute miracle as we were 5 kms off the main track! were able to take him to Marble mine 50kms away and radio for a Helicopter to come and take him out

We did our trip alone, wife & kids... also found a few Germans, lost control of their hired vehicle after they had a blowout and helped them recovered the vehicle and fitted their spare,
Tyre choice on these trips are extremely important, we did Van Zyls and did over 8000km without a single flat or punture... maybe some luck as well, but make sure you get tyres with harder side walls
