My First 4x4

Hi Guys

My Name is Justin , I recently got my first 4x4 , A 2014 Toyota Fortuner 3.0 D4D 4x4.

Been doing a lot of reading on the forum and learning lots from you guys , But have a problem

I am keen to get out and do some 4x4 driving to gain experience and have fun days out , but my problem is none of my friends have 4x4's. i know one shouldn't go driving alone , Thus my problem !

I am looking for groups or even forum members that we can join for days out. Is there groups or forum members we can join that will take Beginners out to show them the tracks , What equipment to buy and how to safely use it.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated . I have had my car for 4 months and not even put it in low range yet

Thanks

Welcome Justin,
I am trying to arrange a fun drive day,
4x4 experience only comes with time spend behind the steering, but enjoy the Tuna... they are extremely capable!

Hi and welcome Justin.
Where in Gauteng are you, I would suggest go to Groenkloof Pretoria nature reserve, they have a 4x4 track. Mild to wild, keep the forum on speed dial if you get into some hiccup. One of us in Pretoria can come and give a hand.

Hi Guys

Thanks for getting back to me , I am very keen to join a fun drive day.
When are you thinking of having it and at what Venue ?

I was thinking over the weekend , There must a lot of beginners like me , Is there not a way we can Start a Beginners club and a Experienced Forum member take us out to the trails , What do you guys think of that idea ?

Good idea. I would be happy to take out a few guys in the Pretoria area. I find De Wildt a great trail to learn on. There are escape routes at the major obstacles and a nice place to braai afterwards.

Let me know.
