Would you.....?

HI All,

I need some help here;

Would you trade your 2012 Fortuner 4x4 Manual with 77000km in for a 2017 Fortuner 2.8 4x4 with 29 000km? Both Fortuners are white and has the same accessories...nudge bar, towbar and black strip protecting the rear bumper...

nothing wrong with my 2012 - but there is a fairly good deal on the table for me to do this, but I'm not 100% convinced it is a wise move - so, the question is open to the members of the forum - Would you??

Hmmm not sure, how much will you be paying more for the new shape ?
I don’t think I’ll buy the GD2.8 Fortuner. I would love to move to the Prado before going to the new shape Fortuner.
I still like taking my Fortuner for some hard 4x4ing, I don’t think the new one can take the same beating.

I would also like to have a new one, but then it will take some years before I take it on a off road 4 x 4 trip. The older one can take a punch and I would not feel to bad.

I believe the 2012 version is better on gravel roads since it has permanent 4 wheel drive. The new one does not have a central differential like the old one, but has the exact drivetrain as that of the HiLux.

Never made the swop/change. wife likes the new Fortuner, I'm not too fond of it. Haven't driven it yet, might change my mind if I do that. :whistling:

2012 vs new Fortuner

5 Months ago traded our 2006 3D 4*4 Fortuner in with 330 000 km on clock, 13 countries visited (as far as Rwanda) with great reluctance.

Bought the new 2.8 Auto 4*4 and have not looked back.

Been for 2 weeks in Central Kalahari and just got back from 5 weeks via Zimbabwe :) (Mana) to Zambia (South Luangwa) to Tete (Mozambique) and then down the coast to Villancuos, Xai Xai beach, Beline, Pont D'Ouro and back to CT via the Golden Gate.

Cannot believe how much easier and comfortable the new Fortuner is. Was a great move.
