Sani Pass

Has anybody done Sani Pass in a 2x4? I've got the Fortuner 4.0 V6 and would like to know how it would perform up the pass.

Hi

Gone are the days of SANI being a challenge

Maybe on the worse possible day of the decade will you struggle, but the rest of the time...well...

lets just say: I saw a Polo and a Figo on the pass the other day

granted they were rentals :D but still... ;)

Sani Pass

Thanks. That gives me hope. However, I've got the petrol engine with an autobox and there isn't much torque when you doing a steep climb, unless you have your foot flat down.

I have not done Sani pass in years, even when then it was not difficult to do...

Auto should be easier as the torque converter helps to put the power down, I would maybe deflate the tyres a bit, lock it in 1st gear and keep your momentum.
should be easy as pie...
