Suspension Upgrade

?( ?( ?( Good Day Guys

I have had my Fortuner for 4 months now and would like to upgrade my suspension. I would like opinions on what the best would be for my purpose.

I dont do a lot of off-roading but am planning to do more game drives etc in the near future. I also tow a small caravan at least once every 2nd month.

I would like advice on this issue as I have no clue <img src="webkit-fake-url://f7cf3f9f-e895-43d6-9ea7-63f82938c4f7/imagepng" style="font-size: 0.8em;" /> on what to do here. I drive a 3.0 D4D 4x2.

1. What is recommended to improve the road holding / drive / safety?2. What would the cost be for said upgrade ( estimated)

Thanks Madcap

Hey MADCAP.
I would most certainly have a look at AMADA EXTREME.
I've only heard good things about them, and am actually after a lot of research decided that I also wanna get a suspension upgrade.

Apologies for highjacking of the thread...

RRR, did you replace the shocks and the coils?

How did this affect the "tail drop" when hooking the caravan?

I tow an echo 5 trailer and on my previous (2006) Fortuner I fitted Monroe shocks and a set of air helpers in the rear coils. I was perfectly happy with its performance together with the original coils springs.

I have now bought a new Fortuner :) and have to do something before I leave for the December holidays ;( . I was going to do the same as before but all the talk about the Amada's have got me thinking... 8|

Thanks

Johann

Darryl @ Mikem will sort you out!

I fitted Bilsteins and progressive coils, he also has other coils depending on your needs.

Amada coils at the back...the last time I went camping I loaded 6 pax in the Fortuner and I tow n Classique caravan which is not the lightest caravan and my Ft was level.

Die overall handling improved significantly and I am more comfortable to tow at 120km/h than ever before.

Best investment you can make

Hi MADCAP

Reach out to Cobus regarding the Amadas. He'll listen to what your needs are and provide advice accordingly.

I have upgraded shocks and coils to Amada and very satisfied thus far. Towing caravan (Jurgens Penta) for the first time this December holiday and will provide feedback. The Amadas also improved the Fortuner's carrying capacity.

Cheers and good luck

Hi Grobbies, have been looking at and saving for a caravan for the past two years. Recently saw the Penta and my wife and I liked it and now we're going on holiday with the Fortuner and Penta combination for the first time.

We really wanted a Penta. but found a newer Regal for the same money. You will love the Penta, its Jurgens best selling road caravan.

Our Tuna tows the Regal (I know its lightly lighter than the Penta) with ease!
