Tour ready FT

Hi guy's maybe you can advise me here

I have fitted:

a duel battery system with monitor

a front metal replacement bumper (Burnco)

Rock sliders (Burnco)

what I hope to fit next is suspension and tyres.

next item I think is a draw system. This is were I get totally lost. Ammo crates/ammo draw or just draws? What system is best.

Oh I suppose I need mention this is for 2 people and I have a 40L fridge/freezer. This is not meant to be a play vehicle.

Appreciate any comments and info

I really wanted one too.
I like Front Runner drawer for FT, fits really nice. Big Country also makes a very good one.
My problem is the fridge, on top of the drawer its very high to reach inside.
Solution is drop down fridge slide, this however is very pricey and you still can't get a beer out the fridge without stopping and getting it out the back.

Breekbeen: Thank you for your reply. I too do not want the fridge on top of the draws. I think I may end up trying to make my own.

I have made one for my Fortuner some time ago, I have raised the drawers with 30mm and fitted a full size table under the drawer system,

Unfortunately I dont have nice pics, but here are a few, hope you get the idea.

Thank you Cobus, this is exactly my idea, and with water on the side.

The idea to have the table under the drawers worked really great, only problem the drawer system was huge and there was really very limited space on the side and behind the seats

I still have the drawer at home but are using the setup as a drawer system in my garage, let me know if you require the dimensions,

Packing systems are very personal things. What works for one does not necessarily work for the next guy. Before you spend bucks on what might not work, just freestyle it once or twice, and see what your needs are.

I know Gomad4x4 in brackenfell makes a very nice drawer system unit that fits in the back of a Fortuner with a built in water tank, fridge slide and some drawers. It utilises all the space in the back.. It's the best worked out one I have ever seen and really worth having a look at.

Very true, do you homework as its an expensive item and need to be practical for your needs,

Every time I tour/camp I change something to make it better and easier. Drawer system are very personal and needs to be planned very carefully.
The one I made for my Fortuner was huge, drawers worked great as well as the fridge and loved the table I had. But if I would build one again, would try to make it as small as possible to ensure I can use the spaces around it.

just had the Big Country fitted with their slide, looks and feels good, but like anything on my Tuna something squeeks somewhere...even SWAMBO is happy (didnt see invoice though). Feels well built and didnt appear in a box to be bolted together like some other brands I have seen around

Now planning Big Country RR as again it seems to be welded in the correct places not screwed together, hate having to constantly check bolts are still done up
