Fortuner over revving when changing gears

Hi all. Yes I'm a newbie on this forum. just a quick one. My "New" 2012 Fortuner 3.0 D4D 4x4 is revving up when I'm changing gears. I had a Q-chip installed and it still does the same. What may cause the revs to pick up and then gradually to drop when I change gears.

My Corolla does the same - maybe it's a Toyota thing?

GOOGLE say the following:
Rev hang is colloquial expression describing an undesirable characteristic of modern cars. ... improved driveability, no need for regular tune ups and improved reliability, ... between backing off throttle and depressing the clutch to change gears. .... The development was done on Honda and Toyota cars and the device can ...

Can this be the explanation we are looking for or is there something wrong with the throttle or with the diesel rail on the Tuna?

Nope - sounds like a problem that needs to be addressed, or, maybe - do you have a cruise control?

If it's a 2012 take it to Toyota should still be under warranty.

Hi all, it has been a long time since I asked a question on the forum. I hope all you guys and ladies have been keeping safe. I am also having the same problem with my tuna. Over revving when changing gears. I do not see any solution posted here. If someone has a solution please let me know by email. The problem is frustrating
