Advice on Suspension Upgrade

Hi Guys,

I have installed an additional 50 litre fuel tank which has
lowered the spare wheel by about 50mm. Normally the spare wheel is above
the diff level but when loaded the spare wheel is actually lower than the
diff. On a recent trip to CKGR I found that the vehicle seemed to “bottom
out” a lot and also the spare wheel was hitting the middle mannetjie.

I do not want to compromise normal urban driving
by having too hard a suspension.
Probably 90% of the time I will be on tar but could do with better of-road ability when needed.

Any advice on what suspension to go for would be appreciated. There are so many different makes on the market it is difficult to decide which is best.

Hi, it will be a problem. The options are to install either replacement back bumper with spare wheel carrier or spare wheel carrier on the tow bar.
If you do suspension lift it will lift the body and the spare wheel but the diff will stay on same height as now. The cost for suspension is just to get the spare wheel higher according to my mind not the price worth.
My choice would be spare wheel carrier on tow bar

Fit Airsprings.
You can then adapt to city and off road conditions.
