Decat on a V6?

Hi all.

A friend of mine is considering removing the catalytic converter on his 2010 V6 Fortuner.

I know from previous threads that you can just remove and replace with a straight pipe on the D4D. Does anyone know if this is the case with the V6 or whether there is a sensor that needs to be fooled as with some other cars?

I have done the complete exhaust system on my V6 and it makes a huge difference,as long as he takes it to a reputable exhaust place he should have no problems doing the decat.
