Hi V6 Scary Knocking Sound

Hi guy's,

I have a 2007 V6 Auto 4x4 (172 000 km) .... the other day I did a cold start up ...MY FT sounded like a diesel ....it sounded like oil was not getting to where it was supposed to.The FT is serviced at Agents at regular intervals and just had one 8 months ago.Off to the agent I went the following day to get an opinion......it turned out FT was having a sludge build up after checking the muck in the oil cap - How was this possible was my question as I have the FT serviced regularly at the dealership.......My suspicion is ...unfortunately I cannot prove anything .....is that the oil filter has not been replaced a couple of times - I do however check the oil after every service.

The solution eventually was me personally flushing the engine with 1litre Diesel and replacing it with 10w30 oil - with 500ml Everson Oil additive. No noises ever since now for 2 weeks and going like the rocket ship she is.

Hmmm I suspect the dealer may have never changed your oil on the last service. I would kill them if I had the proof like you say.
Try going to shell oil if you can next service

Fleet owners seem to love using them. It’s just that most spare shops and almost no garages have the product. That’s why guys use Castrol, Shell and other popular brands.
