2011 Toyota Fortuner 3.0 D-4D 4X4 At

Hi Guys,

I own a 2011 Toyota Fortuner 3.0 D-4D 4x4 AT

Lately I have been having a problem with my van, she has lost power drastically. Before I should be belting 160km/h to 180km/h flat on the freeway and 120km/h on the hills. Now I'm getting 100km/h flat and on the hills 80km/h to 90km/h. She looses power within 3 seconds from 140km/h to 80km/h without braking.. that's driving on hills.

Has anyone ever experienced this before?

I cannot hear any noises inside the engine bay.

Would appreciate any feedback. thanks :)

Is the engine there and running?
Is the handbrake off?

Yes, the engine is still there and idling, and handbrake is down... took it to Toyota Thekweni today and ran some tests, its said that the Turbo is going or I need to change air filter which I did. Another fault could be the intercooler which could be clogged. :(

doubt that could be the problem, unless you have done some heavy 4x4 driving in sand and mud?

They meant clogged inside, If it was glogged on the ouside it would not make such a drastic difference( I think?).

No I don't use the vehicle for heavy off road, last trip I did was to Mozambique and we only drove on sand so nothing major was done to strain the van :(

So I did a pressure test on the intercooler and everything was working perfectly there. I checked all pipes to see for a boost leak. Yesterday Toyota Thekweni said that the van has lost 0.3% boost after test driving and tests. The van was suppose to be boosting at 170-180 PSI but its only boosting at 150 PSI. I went down to MR TURBO and got a quote for a new turbo, but they said they only have the upgraded turbo for this vehicle. So on Saturday I'm sending the vehicle in for a boost test and ill take it from there. :)
