2019 2.8 Gd6 Fortuner Propshaft issues

Hi all

just recently purchased a brand new 2.8 Toyota Fortuner, 2019 Model, van has about 15000kms on the clock.

Wanting to find out, is anyone else with the same van having any issues with the propshaft leaking Transmission fluid from the universal joint? i have had the propshaft replaced 2 months ago and now i am waiting for the second replacement because the problem has come back. Toyota has advised that this is a common issue on the newer Fortuners but has anyone in this forum experienced the same issues and if so, how did Toyota SA rectify the issue. Looking at getting them to replace the van as i dont think anyone should be experiencing this issue considering its a brand new van

TIA

No issue on mine, now on 30k km.

You will not get the car replaced so rather go find a dealer that knows how to fix the issue properly.

Common problem. Toyota SA have acknowledged it Aswell and currently hunting for a new supplier. Plenty of guys I know with the Dakar, Fortuners and Hilux having issues with leaking shafts. Probably a bad batch. Getting a new replacement van after all the fighting, well once they’ve found my color. Dealership is picking up the loss.

Hi my 2016 2.8 GD 6 auto has had no issues to date 72000 km. Just need to change back brake pads and a new set of tires.
