differential ratio changing

Howdy mates. Hope all is well.

I am doing some research on diff ratio change.

Because the wheels have been changed from 65/16 to 70/17, the loss of power in 5th.

Upon engaging in a discussion,

One specified changing to 4.55 ratio
Another said 3.90 ratio
Last one said....... the above two ratio are meant for petrol engines, using them on diesel will result in higher revs on top end.

Using a 4.1 ratio will allow torque an power to be even at low to top end.

Silverfoxes input will be much appreciated.

I'm running with bigger wheels 33" and don't have a power problem - but fitted a De Graaf free flow exhaust and a chip.... Pulls like train even fully loaded with my camping trailer @ 120km/h with a smile!
