Fortuner Review

Well, I also looked at 4.0 V6 but only comes in 4x4 :thumbdown: I dont want a 4x4 and definitely not at the current price, so I opted for the 2nd best which is 2.8 AT 4x2........

I will probably be able to do a full sales experience review.. A first 10,000km review, and then a full review for the first 3 years of ownership.. I think then you will probably be able to get the best average..

These reviews from magazines and guys just lending a vehicle for a few days I see as nonsense as you need to get all facts from buying the car, getting to know the car, using it day by day.. Service experience from dealers.. Issues coming up in a month or 2 months or 1 year or 5 years.. You want an honest review, owners who paid for those vehicles can give you the best review. And if they lie, they paid to lie...

Totoya fortuner sways when driven on numb or uneven roads

I recently bought a toyota fortuner 2007 with 125k km. It sways to either sides when you drive it on bumpy or uneven surfaces. But I feel the sway at the back, the rear wheels. Front suspension was done everything and alignment. The rear bushes were tested ok by toyota servicemen. So WHAT could be my problem...???

Stability is shocks, if you feels its sways or bunpy the shocks damping are not correct.
The older Fortuner's rear suspension are very sensitive to worn ir incorect shocks and some shocks does not work on the Fortuner's.

Rear sway

Thanks for your response. So you suggest I should change all shocks with the originals including the front ones. Who can have these...?

I fitted Koni shocks all around
That changed the vehicle’s handling completely, for the better.

Morning
I bought my FT +- 3 years ago, 2013 3L D4D 4x4 AT. We like the comfort and power, (drove Defenders for 14 years).
Fuel consumption,
Town, 7km/l
Open road 12km/l
Towing 5-8km/l (depends on wind and load).
Still using the standard suspension and haven't done any mods on the FT, (only removed the 2 far back seats to have more space).
I don't do 4x4ing (tracks) but have done the training and used the 4x4 when needed. I have noticed that the low range is faster then compared to the Defender, need to use the brakes now and again.
Likes;
- comfort, shape, reliability, power, auto box (first for me and works well, just don't tow in D in gravel uphill pass, box overheats, must lock it L/2).

Dislikes;
- none, happy with the car.
